The Danish Delusion
So recently a young, west African woman from Dallas went viral for her story time on her marriage to a Danish man who she claims scammed her and her loved ones out of over $300K. I think she was expecting a Reesa Teesa response but that did not happen. She obviously has things to work on regarding internalized anti blackness and how that affects her dating life. But watching this unfold reinforced the truth that the internet is not a diary and some things should only be discussed in therapy. Nothing good comes from sharing your dating life on the internet as a black woman, in my opinion. Also it is so important to have black friends because if she did, she could’ve saved herself from a lot of heartbreak. I pray that I am never so blinded by the desire to be loved that it eclipses my common sense.
